This week, from multiple credible sources (advisors and respected colleagues), I have heard a few times that it is important to position my research in different contexts and to many others. After all, I may be subjected to a situation wherein I give an elevator pitch (i.e., the professional pop quiz). I, by no means, love hearing myself talk or love reading my writing. In fact, I’m somewhat content to be among awesome others.
Shallowly, it is for reasons related to professional preparation that I will start to blog my research—or, in my slow/slacker weeks, I blog my observations of higher education and academia. On a deeper side, I hope that my reflective shouts into the void may resonate with those who find these posts.
